If you only have a 1 week vacation on the Big Island you only have enough time to scratch the surface of what's available to see and do. Konafriends is currently in production of this around the island video tour to give you a realistic idea of what can be seen in 5 days.

Most folks don't realize the Big Island is the size of the state of Rhode Island. Planning is important if you want to get the most out of your visit to the Orchid Isle. We're here to help.

Below is the itinerary of our 5 day driving/walking tour. We spend 1 night in Hilo and 1 night in Volcano. This is the most efficient way to see a majority of the island in our opinion.

UPDATE:

Good news and bad news... let's start with the bad. The above video project is probably going to take me 3 months to do a first class job and by then every body on my waiting list will have forgot about it.

The good news is I forgot I have a video to hold folks over with. And it's FREE! It's not a 5 day tour. It's a 1 day tour from the center of Kona to Keauhou. I show and talk about the Hulie'e Palace, Mokuaikaua Church which is the oldest church in Hawaii. I drive through Kailua village with my camera rolling showing the shopping district.

I stop off at Honl's beach and then continue down Alii Dr. to Kahaluu Beach Park. There's also footage of St. Peter's Church.

The video ends down at Keauhou Bay where it shows some interesting lava formations that are different colors.

The thing about this video is I made it for a man named Robert and I'm narrating it to him but any one would enjoy it I think.

I don't usually make personal videos, but let me tell you what happened.

One day I got an email saying that someone had unsubscribed from my Konafriends Newsletter. When people unsubscribe the software asks them if they would care to elaborate as to why they unsubscribe.

Robert did. He said "I've recently suffered a stroke and I'm heading to a nursing home and I will never be able to accomplish my dream of coming to Hawaii and I just can't read anymore about it" That's why he canceled.

I emailed him and said I'd like to make him a video and he said OK. The next weekend I produced this video for him. This video was shot and edited on a very short time line so it's got some flaws but over all is pretty good I think.

The 5 Day Video above will be a professionally produced product so please keep that in mind when comparing that video to this one.
