Good Kailua Kona Restaurants
There are lots of good Kailua Kona restaurants that serve regular old haole food. You can try Denny's.
Their menu has everything the mainland Denny's has plus it also has a lot of local food. Like Saimen for example. What's Saimen? It's kind of like chicken soup. It's pretty good. Denny's is located on Henry St. in the Safeway shopping center just above Wal-Mart. Yup Wal-Mart. Their everywhere right, even in Kona. Another good Kona restaurant is Quinn's, located across the street from the King Kam Hotel and right next to the Kona Seaside Hotel. Quinn's makes a mean steak sandwich and the price is real reasonable, about 12 bucks. Nice little place with a small bar. Speaking of bars and food, the Kona Inn located in the village on Alii Dr. has a beautiful bar and restaurant over looking Kailua bay and the food is very good. The mud pie desert is fabulous. It's made of Kona coffee ice cream sitting on an Oreo cookie crust with whip cream topping. Ummm. South of the Kona Inn is the next good place to eat and that's the Kona Beach Club Bar and Grill located behind Wyland Gallery right on the ocean. Good prices and good food. They serve a HUGE burrito, easily enough for two people. Then next door to them is Bubba Gumps also right on the water. I like their cheeseburger and fries. Down in Keauhou shopping center about 5 miles south of Kailua town is Drysdales Restaurant and bar. I like their Prime Rib dinner. Oops, I almost forgot about Jackie Ray's. Their located kind of off the beaten path at Kuakini, Oni Oni and Walua Rd. As far as fast food goes, there is McDonalds on Kuakini Hwy. They have a brand new store. Very nice. Burger King is on Palani Rd. and is currentlybeing remodeled. Should be nice when their ready to reopen. Taco Bell and Pizza Hut are across the street from Burger King. Subway sandwich shop is located in the same complex as Denny's. There is also one down in Keauhou shopping center. And last but not least one out in the new industrial park. So you need not worry about going hungry in Kona. There are lots of good Kailua Kona restaurants available.
